~13 miles via kayak (amazing!)
It was forecast to be 100 degrees, so we decided to kayak instead of walk today! And what a great choice it was. The river was calm and easy to navigate with lots of wildlife (herons, fish, butterflies, baby ducks, raptors, cows, so many cicadas, and more!). I had been nervous about paddling so far, but my arms made it and it was nice to give my legs a break. It was such a fun adventure, especially because our friends from Quebec joined us!
We stayed at Hôtel des Grottes in Cabrerets, which was very nice and we enjoyed a delicious meal (are there other kinds of meals in France?!) of steak and slow cooked lamb. The hotel had a pool and many, many mosquitoes. There were also eggs for breakfast, which was a welcome surprise, you just had to cook them yourself!
