Day 4: Saugues to Chazeaux

~10 miles (rolling hills, very little shade)

Today my body (mostly my feet and legs) is sore and I’m glad for a break from the big hills. However, the sun was intense and there was very little shade along the route. I’m feeling a little crispy despite my long pants and long sleeves and big hat and 50 spf and a shade umbrella.

The day ended at a tiny hamlet in the middle of farm country. We were only 2 of 4 people staying at our gîte, Gîte de la Virlange. But our host, Élodie made us feel right at home and cooked the most wonderful meal. The dessert was extra special; panacotta in the shape of a Camino scallop shell covered in homemade apricot and nectarine jam!
